Staffing was broken. So we rebuilt it

Before Gig Healthcare existed, our founding team spent years inside the machine: running desks at traditional staffing agencies, and managing units and staffing offices inside hospitals. Which means we saw both versions of the same contract, and they never told the same story.

On the agency side, recruiters advertised one blended hourly number to clinicians, knowing the real taxable wage buried inside it was something else entirely. On the facility side, finance teams signed invoices with markups nobody explained, because no one at the agency would put the margin in writing. The clinician didn't know what the facility paid. The facility didn't know what the clinician made. The gap between those two numbers was where the industry lived.

Both sides were paying a premium for not knowing. The secrecy wasn't a flaw in the model. The secrecy was the model.

Good intentions don't survive quarterly targets, so we wrote the rule into software. That became GigOS: one platform, one loop, and two honest views of the same numbers.
